How gabion walls are built

Empty wire cages are assembled and positioned, internal bracing wires are added for larger boxes, and the cages are then hand-packed with stone (typically 100–250mm in size). Boxes are wired together at the seams as they’re built up in courses, creating a continuous, stable structure.
